In Manage → Contacts, open the contact's row action menu (the dots icon) to Edit or Delete. Editing changes the contact's name, email, mobile, country, or CCs. Deleting removes the contact permanently — there's no Contacts Recycle Bin, and the contact is automatically removed from all reminder recipient lists. There's no "deactivate" option for contacts.

Before you start

  • You need Administrator access OR the Contact Edit / Contact Delete permission. Deletion is gated by Contact Delete; Editors must have this granted explicitly.
  • Deletion is permanent — there's no Contacts Recycle Bin or restore screen.
  • Decide whether you really want to delete, or whether removing the contact from active reminders (without deleting) would meet your need.

Editing a contact

  1. Go to Manage → Contacts.
  2. Find the contact.
  3. Open the row's action menu (dots icon) and choose Edit.
  4. Adjust the fields you need:
    • First name, last name
    • Email
    • Country
    • Mobile number
    • Contact CC (the contacts that auto-attach as CCs when this contact receives a reminder — up to 5)
    • Group assignment
  5. Save.

Changes apply immediately. The contact's existing reminder attachments stay intact — only their contact details update.

Deleting a single contact

  1. Go to Manage → Contacts.
  2. Find the contact.
  3. Open the row's action menu (dots icon) and choose Delete.
  4. The confirmation dialog appears:

> Confirm delete this contact? > You won't be able to revert this! > [Yes, delete it!] [No]

  1. Click Yes, delete it! to proceed.

Deleting multiple contacts (bulk)

  1. In Manage → Contacts, tick the checkboxes for the contacts you want to delete.
  2. Use the bulk Delete action.
  3. The confirmation dialog appears:

> Delete Contacts > Contacts will be deleted permanently. Confirm DELETE?

  1. Confirm to proceed.

What happens when you delete a contact

This is the critical part — read carefully before deleting:

  • The contact is marked as deleted in Remindax.
  • The contact is automatically removed from all active reminder recipient lists. You don't need to unassign them from reminders first; deletion handles it.
  • Deletion is not blocked because the contact is on reminders. It proceeds either way.
  • There is no Contacts Recycle Bin or restore screen — once deleted, the contact is gone. You'd need to re-create the contact (with the same name/email) if you want them back.
  • Any future reminder sending for items the contact was on continues — just without that contact as a recipient.

In short: deleting a contact cleans them out of your reminder workflow automatically, but it's a one-way action.

What if I want to "deactivate" a contact instead?

There is no deactivate or disable option for contacts in Remindax. The available actions are edit and delete only.

If you want to stop using a contact without deleting:

  • Remove them from specific reminders' recipient lists — open each reminder where you want them off, and remove them from recipients. Slow but precise.
  • Clear or change their email / mobile number — without contact methods, they can't receive notifications. Edit their record, blank out the email/mobile, save. They stay in Contacts but won't get sent anything.

Neither is as clean as a real deactivate feature would be, but they're the workarounds available today.

What happens next

  • After edit: the contact details update immediately; existing reminder attachments persist.
  • After delete: the contact is gone, removed from all reminder recipient lists. Future notifications for those reminders proceed without this contact.

Edge cases & gotchas

  • No Contacts Recycle Bin. Deletion is irreversible. Be deliberate.
  • Deletion isn't blocked by reminder assignment. Remindax removes the contact from all reminders automatically — no "you must unassign first" guard.
  • No deactivate option. Workarounds: remove from specific reminders, or blank out contact methods.
  • Contact Delete permission required. Editors without it can't delete; an admin must grant the permission explicitly.
  • A deleted contact and a newly-created contact with the same email are different records. Re-creation isn't restoration — you start fresh.
  • The bulk delete confirmation explicitly says "deleted permanently" — no Recycle Bin softening this. The wording is accurate.
