In My Settings, open the Security tab and enable 2-Step Verification. Step 1: scan the QR code with Google Authenticator (or another TOTP authenticator app). Step 2: enter the 6-digit code to Verify Code. Once enabled, every login asks for the authenticator code. If you lose your authenticator, use Backup code by email at login to receive a one-time code by email instead.

Before you start

  • Install a TOTP authenticator app on your phone. Remindax explicitly references Google Authenticator; any standard TOTP-compatible app (Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password) also works.
  • Have access to your registered email for the backup option.

Steps

  1. Open My Settings and go to the Security tab.
  2. Enable 2-Step Verification.
  3. Step 1 — Scan QR Code. "Scan this QR Code with Google Authenticator App." Open your authenticator app and add a new account by scanning the QR code shown in Remindax.
  4. Step 2 — Verify Code. "Enter 6 digit code from Authenticator app." Type the 6-digit code into Remindax and click Verify Code.
  5. Save.

Backup: code by email

Use Backup code by email if you can't access your authenticator app — at login, choose the email backup option to receive a one-time code by email instead of pulling it from the authenticator. This lets you sign in when the app isn't available.

What happens next

  • Future logins require a 6-digit code from your authenticator (or an email code via the backup option) after your password.
  • The 2SV column in Manage → Users reflects your enabled status.
  • The email backup remains available as long as you have access to your registered email.

Edge cases & gotchas

  • No admin enforcement. There is no "require 2SV for everyone" admin toggle. 2SV is per-user opt-in via My Settings → Security.
  • Admin can deactivate a user's 2SV. If a teammate loses their device and the email backup also isn't accessible, an Administrator can deactivate that user's 2SV from the user edit screen, after which the user can sign in and set up 2SV again.
  • Each device's authenticator is separate. Scanning the QR on a second phone makes a second source of codes — fine for backup, but treat both as sensitive.
  • Time drift. Authenticator codes are time-based. If codes consistently fail, make sure your phone's clock is set to automatic time.
  • Lost device flow. Sign in via the email backup, then re-do 2SV setup under My Settings → Security on your new device.
