The Google Calendar integration pushes your Remindax reminders into a Google Calendar you choose, so expirations, due dates, appointments, and events show up next to the rest of your day. Connect via Google OAuth, pick the destination calendar, and Remindax creates an event for each reminder — with title, due date, notes, and a link back to the item.

What it does

Once connected, Remindax automatically writes each reminder to your selected Google Calendar as a calendar event. The integration is one-way (Remindax → Google): create or update a reminder in Remindax, and the matching event appears or refreshes in Google Calendar. Changes you make directly in Google Calendar do not flow back to Remindax.

What gets synced

  • Expiration reminders — events appear on the expiry date.
  • Due date reminders — events appear on the due date.
  • Appointments and events — events appear at the scheduled date and time.
  • Document Upload reminders — events appear on the upload deadline.

Each event carries:

  • The reminder name (event title).
  • The expiry / due date (event date).
  • Notes from Remindax (company, department, document type, custom fields, any notes you added).
  • A direct link back to the reminder in Remindax so you can open the source record in one click.

Before you start

  • You're signed into Remindax as an Administrator or a user with integration permissions.
  • You have a Google account with at least one writable calendar.
  • Pop-ups are allowed in your browser so the Google authorisation window can open.

Connect Google Calendar

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar.
  2. Click Connect with Google.
  3. Choose the Google account you want to use and review the requested permissions — Remindax asks only to view your calendars and create/update events.
  4. Click Allow. You're returned to Remindax with status Connected.
  5. Select the destination calendar (your primary calendar or any other calendar you can write to, including shared team calendars).
  6. Save.

From this point on, new or updated reminders are written to the selected calendar automatically.

Sync settings & customisation

  • Destination calendar — pick a personal calendar for solo use, or a shared team calendar so everyone sees the same view.
  • Event title prefix — optionally tag events with prefixes like [Expiry], [Renewal], or [Compliance] for quick scanning.
  • Event reminder — Google Calendar's own pop-up reminder (same day, 1 day before, 7 days before, etc.). This is separate from Remindax's notification sequence.

How updates work

  • New reminder → a new calendar event is created.
  • Reminder edited → the matching event is updated (title, date, notes).
  • Reminder deleted or archived → the matching event is removed.
  • Edits inside Google Calendar → not pushed back to Remindax. Remindax stays the source of truth.

Disconnect or revoke access

  1. From Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar, click Disconnect.
  2. Confirm. Remindax stops sending new events. Existing events already in your Google Calendar are not automatically deleted — you can remove them manually if needed.

You can also revoke Remindax's access directly from your Google Account at Security → Third-party apps with account access.

Security & privacy

  • Authentication is via Google OAuth. Remindax never sees or stores your Google password.
  • Granted scopes are limited to viewing your calendar list and creating/updating events on the calendar you select.
  • OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and used solely to keep the integration running.
  • Remindax does not read your existing personal calendar events — it only writes the events you ask it to sync.

Edge cases & gotchas

  • One Google Calendar destination per company. Each Remindax company connects to one calendar. If you operate multiple companies, connect each separately.
  • Events are not deleted when you disconnect. Disconnecting stops future syncs but leaves existing events in Google Calendar. Remove them manually if you don't want them.
  • Calendar reminders are independent. The pop-up reminder Google Calendar shows is separate from the Remindax notification sequence — both can fire.
  • Time zones. Events are written using the reminder's date in the company's time zone. Google Calendar then shows them in the viewer's local time zone, so two people in different time zones may see different times.
  • Bulk historical sync. When you connect, only reminders going forward are synced. To backfill older items, open and re-save them.

Troubleshooting

  • Events not appearing → confirm the correct destination calendar is selected, the reminder date is in the future, and the calendar is visible in Google Calendar (not hidden in the sidebar).
  • Sync stopped after a password change → reconnect from Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar. Token refresh sometimes fails when Google account credentials change.
  • "Permission denied" → the Google account doesn't have write access to the selected calendar. Switch to a calendar you own, or grant edit access on the existing one.
  • Pop-up blocked → enable pop-ups for remindax.com in your browser and retry the connection.

Related questions

  • Is the sync two-way? No. It's Remindax → Google. Edits made directly in Google Calendar don't update Remindax.
  • Can I sync to a shared team calendar? Yes — pick any calendar you have write access to as the destination.
  • Will it sync past reminders? No, only reminders updated or created after the integration is enabled. Open and save older items to backfill them.
  • What happens if I disconnect? New events stop syncing. Already-synced events remain in Google Calendar until you remove them manually.
  • Does Remindax see my personal events? No. The OAuth scope only allows writing events to the calendar you choose.
