In Manage → Users, open the user's row menu and choose Delete User. Confirm the dialog. The user is soft-deleted: they lose login access and the seat they held frees up. Their existing reminders, tasks, and recipient assignments are not changed — those stay in place with the removed user's ID attached. Plan the handoff manually before removal if continuity matters.

Before you start

  • You need to be the Owner or a Privileged Administrator.
  • Identify what the user is responsible for before removing: reminders they created, tasks assigned to them, any reminder-reply email settings that name them. Removal doesn't reassign or clean these up.

Steps

  1. (Recommended first) Manually reassign or update what the user is responsible for:
    • Edit any reminders that should now belong to someone else.
    • Reassign tasks assigned to the user to a different teammate.
    • In Settings → General → Reminder Reply Email (if you use it), remove the user from the listed recipients.
  2. Go to Manage → Users.
  3. On the user's row, open the menu and choose Delete User.
  4. Confirm the dialog: "Confirm delete {name}? You won't be able to revert this!" — choose Yes, delete it!

What happens next

  • The user is soft-deleted internally: their account is deactivated, disabled, and marked deleted. They can no longer log in.
  • Your user/seat count drops by one immediately.
  • Existing reminders, tasks, and recipient lists are unchanged. Items they created remain; tasks assigned to them remain assigned to that user ID; any settings naming them keep those IDs. There is no automatic reassignment.
  • The user cannot be restored in place. Re-adding the same email creates a brand-new user record with a different ID and no automatic history continuity.

Edge cases & gotchas

  • No automatic cleanup. Plan reassignments before removing — Remindax doesn't move work to someone else for you.
  • Tasks remain assigned to the removed user. They show up in views by their old user ID. To get them off your plate, reassign each (or in bulk) before removing the user.
  • Reply Email recipients aren't auto-purged. If you used Settings → General → Reminder Reply Email to route replies to the user, remove them from that list before deleting.
  • Re-adding is a new user. Bringing back the same person creates a fresh user record — they won't inherit the deleted account's history.
  • The Owner can't be removed. Account ownership transfer is not currently supported, so the original Owner remains the Owner.
  • Confirmation dialog wording is final. "You won't be able to revert this!" — the soft-delete behaves as one-way from your point of view.
